Melasma

    Melasma is a common skin condition that causes brown, gray-brown or patchy discolouration on the skin, most often on the face. It develops due to excess production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. Melasma is more common in women, especially those with medium to darker skin tones, but it can also affect men. The condition is not harmful or contagious, but it can affect self-confidence and overall skin appearance. Common causes including sun exposure, hormonal changes, genetics and skin irritation and heat.
